  • Overview

    We have an exciting opportunity to join an expanding team of retail experts with strong entrepreneurial spirit as a senior analyst, working on syndicated reports as well as consulting projects. We are looking for an experienced analyst with an ability to turn their hand to a range of sectors, as the role requires the candidate to work on consulting projects, covering all aspects of retail and consumer trends. We work with many of the world’s leading retailers, property firms and those in the financial sector to help them maximise success through developing a thorough understanding of the sector and its likely future performance. 

    What you will do

    • Project management and authoring of syndicated and bespoke research products for clients
    • Write consulting proposals for clients, build a research programme to deliver on clients’ needs
    • Undertake research and produce high quality and accurate analysis and data
    • Undertake appropriate analysis for the broad range of projects GlobalData is assigned, including forecasting, market modelling, consumer segmentation, share analysis and/or putting together strategic recommendations for clients
    • Work as part of a team to ensure reports/consulting projects are produced to a high standard within allotted deadlines, with responsibility for proofreading and editing content
    • Create and deliver credible presentations to external audiences
    • Train and support junior members of the team
    • Drive new product development
    • Provide insight and analysis to the media, showing thought leadership
    • Assist our sales teams to strengthen client relationships

    What you will bring to the table

    • Educated to degree level
    • Experience (at least 3 years) of producing market analysis: market building, manipulating and analysing data, and producing meaningful insight. Consulting experience is desirable.
    • An ability to analyse key issues, threats and trends across food & leisure and the retail sector as a whole
    • An understanding of macro issues, demographic trends and economic measures and how they impact the retail market and consumer spend
    • Excellent written English and an ability to proof and edit written content
    • Competent in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
    • Strong communication and presentation skills, with experience of creating and delivering client presentations to an external audience
    • Excellent time management and organisational skills
    • Line management and project management experience is desirable
    • Commercial acumen and an ability to identify growth opportunities for clients
    • Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously and within a team
    • The ability to manage or work on multiple projects with a number of stakeholders and meet client deadlines
