Healthcare Editorial Analyst

GlobalData's editorial team breaks news and publishes original analyses on the most price-sensitive issues in healthcare. We are looking for an analyst to provide a research function for journalist coverage. The successful candidates will focus on specific therapeutic areas, for example, oncology, cardiology, etc. Analysts will work with reporters to better shape coverage on the biopharmaceutical industry including R&D, regulations, pricing, policy, litigation, contract research, M&A and collaborations. Along with research duties, analysts will also be involved in creating and writing reports on specific indications.


GlobalData's diverse team consistently provides an exceptional product and level of analysis to a readership comprising: top-tier investment banks, hedge funds, corporate subscribers, as well as other players in the healthcare sector. 


What you will do

  • Support the investigative journalist team through in-depth research and discussion on leads
  • Track upcoming pharmaceutical R&D situations, approvals, pricing and reimbursement and market forecasts 
  • Monitor industry news flow and identify market trends and opportunities for new lead generation
  • Data handling/analysis to assist allocated reporters and editors
  • Work with InDesign to create reports involving article compilation, writing and data analysis/tabulation 
  • Engage with other GlobalData analysts on product integration

What you will bring to the table


  • A Bachelor's Degree (preferably in finance or science-related field) or equivalent experience 
  • Financial background with some pharmaceutical or healthcare exposure 
  • Strong knowledge of drug development and the wider healthcare industry
  • Previous financial modelling or research skills
  • Strong communication and writing skills
  • Relevant work experience preferred, although recent graduates are also encouraged to apply
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented approach and an interactive environment, and multitask effectively
  • An understanding of capital markets and competence in reviewing company financial statements
  • Passion in discussing healthcare news and its impact on our client base
