This is an exciting opportunity to join an expanding global organisation determined to become the world leader in market intelligence. We are growing our team and presence in Asia Pacific and investing in strong sales leadership talent who can oversee and personally commit to delivering fast growth of our Consumer vertical product in the Japan market. 

The Key Account Manager role is primarily new business focused (a ‘hunter’) and you will be responsible for prospecting, influencing and growing relationships across Japan.  You will take ownership to enhance our brand positioning in the market and open doors to prospective clients and executives to ultimately win their business.  You will exhibit high performance and take pride in growing sales in a new and relatively untapped market for GlobalData.  We’re looking for a business leader who can build the plan for fast sales in 2018 – and personally deliver the numbers - and align that to our 2020+ regional growth requirements (and build a larger Japan sales team). 

This role offers huge potential - through uncapped earnings and significant career advancement – and will be attractive to tenured salespeople who enjoy direct client sales and engagement and want to be the face for our next phase of regional growth

What you will do

  • Build and execute the market business plan to drive prospect awareness leading to sales and high growth in Japan in 2018 and beyond.
  • Over-achieve assigned monthly revenue targets by strategically developing new business opportunities within the business intelligence space.
  • Confidently engage with C-level executives at the largest Consumer Goods companies in Japan. Tailor your message accordingly yet in line with our global product positioning.
  • Consistently achieve prospect meeting, pipeline growth and other sales activity metrics.
  • Personally lead heavy cold-calling efforts and swiftly follow up on marketing leads. Partner with marketing to create robust content-led campaigns to key sales segments.
  • Accurately forecast new business and manage all client information in CRM.
  • Independently own the sales process from start to finish: including database prospecting, message creation, value demonstration and contract negotiation (and potential account management where required).
  • Contribute fully to the objectives of GlobalData and achieve the personal objectives set by your manager.

What you will bring to the table

  • 12+ years’ experience selling complex services, ideally with relevant industry knowledge or experience in B2B business intelligence / digital publications.
  • Proven examples of building business plans which yielded fast sales and overall growth.
  • Strong record of surpassing regular challenging sales performance goals and contributing to firm growth.
  • Proven ability to precisely manage and forecast sales pipeline.
  • Advanced sales skills demonstrating a consultative approach to mould our research to the clients’ individual needs.
  • Ability to create and deliver compelling, persuasive arguments to an executive-level audience, and built rapport and credibility quickly.
  • Innovative approaches to winning new business and collaborating with clients and internal peers.
  • Experience of professionally operating a Sales CRM to manage your performance, sales and provide transparency on your business.
  • Ideally, demonstrable background in selling business intelligence products to, or working within Consumer/FMCG industries.
