Regional Sales Director , Singapore

We are seeking an experienced, committed and energetic sales leader for our GlobalData Singapore/South East Asia operations to execute the market growth strategy.  This role will primarily focus on our Consumer and Retail offerings so familiarity with the FMCG industry and market research will be expected;  the vertical coverage may also extend to Professional Services. Primarily the focus for the role will be South East Asian companies although there’s potential for other countries and sub-regions across Asia Pacific as we continue to align to the significant growth seen in the region.  You'll bring previous experience in building businesses in Asia and a drive to achieve high results in a business that's consistently exceeding expectations. What you will do

  • Think big, dream big - we have big expectations for the APAC region!
  • Align your business growth plan to the regional APAC 2020+ business plans. We are poised for growth and need someone with a hunter mentality to secure quick and consistent wins.
  • Create compelling sales campaigns to drive adoption and subscriptions (and consulting engagements) across the Key Accounts in the sales territory. Personally manage and develop stakeholder relationship at the largest companies.
  • Develop in-seat talent across our current Singapore sales staff, covering Consumer, Financial and Professional Services.
  • Ensure the business meets current and future commercial sales performance targets. Take action and be decisive, where appropriate, to meet commercial expectations.
  • Initiate well-planned business cases for investments in additional talent and resources, in line with regional P&L.
  • Promote GlobalData plc in the market through frequent PR mentions, Conference participation and speaking engagements.
  • Regularly report on the business to regional head and proactively provide updates on performance. Provide regular and productive feedback on our product and content relevance. 
  • Take responsibility and manage all sales forecasts, operations, staffing, talent management and administration for the country, in partnership with other business functions as required.
  • Be an ambassador for GlobalData plc's vision and values internally and externally and commit to the growth we seek in the region.

What you will bring to the table

  • A commercially-savvy, business growth mind-set mixed with a strong people management background. We are looking for a sales leader with 8+ years of management experience, ideally with strong experience leading teams through major growth.
  • Strong sales foundations and a lead-from-the-front mentality to sales
  • A collaborative and inspiring leadership posture with proven experience in managing teams of varied backgrounds.
  • Well-connected and with good foundations in the BI/market research and B2B sales industry.
  • Knowledge of the FMCG industry and/or market research background preferred.
  • Commercial skill and acumen. Proven ability to precisely manage and forecast sales pipeline. 
  • A commitment to the business plan you create; take ownership and plan for resource gaps. An eye for identifying risks and innovating to prevent stalls in business growth. 
  • Strong at internal stakeholder management and influence, expert in external C-level audience engagement.
  • Commitment to and excitement in being responsible for what we'll create in one of our key business markets globally.
