GlobalData is looking to recruit an experienced Market Data Analyst to help develop a range of new quantitative databases tracking consumer markets.


Reporting to the Research Director, you will be able to make an immediate contribution to database development initiatives, including the formulation of innovative research methodologies, source identification and evaluation, model development and forecasting. You will work with special project groups consisting of product owners, senior analysts, expert consultants and database developers.


The successful candidate will be joining a leading business information provider. Our clients, which include several blue-chip companies, value our robust and actionable data and analysis.

What you will do

  • Development of robust research, modelling and forecasting methodologies
  • Testing, refinement, and validation of modelled datasets
  • Creation of process manuals for new database production
  • Support of training programmes for R&A teams
  • Build knowledge of consumer industry intelligence sources
  • Creating analyst reports on the markets and companies covered
  • Support of new product development process

What you will bring to the table

  • Degree (2:1 or higher) in mathematics or other numerate discipline with a significant component in statistics, or relevant statistical experience in a similar environment
  • A minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in a research-related role
  • High degree of initiative and strong problem-solving skills
  • A methodical and logical approach, with the ability to follow processes accurately
  • The ability to work pro-actively, both independently and within project-based teams
  • Highly-honed research and statistical skills and the ability to apply sound rationale to the development of market models
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to communicate and interact with diverse audiences
  • Experience of statistical techniques and theory and the ability to apply them in the development of robust datasets

Salary - £20,000 - £22,000 dependent on experience
