  • Overview

    GlobalData, a leading UK retail analysis and consulting firm, is looking for an enthusiastic and driven individual to join the retail team, specialising in the home sectors (homewares, DIY & gardening, furniture & floorcoverings). The candidate must have a passion for retail and the home sectors, and an interest in consumer behaviour. Prior research analysis experience is desirable. We work with many of the world’s leading retailers, property firms and those in the financial sector to help them maximise success through developing a thorough understanding of the sector and its likely future performance. 


    What you will do

    • Author syndicated and bespoke research products for clients
    • Develop expertise in the home sectors and in the wider retail market
    • Undertake research and produce high quality and accurate analysis & data
    • Work as part of a team to ensure reports are produced to a high standard within allotted deadlines
    • Provide insight and analysis to the media, showing thought leadership
    • Assist our sales teams to strengthen client relationships

    What you will bring to the table

    • Educated to degree level
    • An ability to analyse key issues, threats and trends across the home sectors and retail as a whole
    • An understanding of macro issues, demographic trends and economic measures and how they impact the retail market and consumer spend
    • Excellent written English
    • Competent in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
    • Strong communication and presentation skills, as well as excellent time management and organisational skills
    • Commercial acumen and an ability to identify growth opportunities for clients
    • Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously and within a team
    • Experience of producing market analysis (such as market building, manipulating and analysing data, and producing meaningful insight) is desirable
