    GlobalData is a leading retail analysis and consulting firm in the UK and we are looking for an enthusiastic and driven individual, with prior research analysis experience to join the retail team. A passion for retail and an interest in consumer behaviour is essential, along with knowledge of one of the many sectors we operate within. We work with many of the world’s leading retailers, healthcare industries and those in the financial sector to help them maximise success through developing a thorough understanding of the sector and its likely future performance.

     

    We currently have Analyst positions within the following sectors:

    • Retail

    - Leisure (sports, toys and hobbies)

     

    - Clothing & footwear

     

    - Home (homewares, DIY & gardening, furniture & floorcoverings)

    • Healthcare (Drug Sales and Database)
    • FMCG
    • Beverages (All Consumer, packaging, alcoholic beverages)

    What you will do

     

     

    Our Analyst/Editor positions are a varied and exciting roles which span numerous industries, with all reports differing in terms of focus and level of detail. Key responsibilities of the Analyst/Editor position include:

    • Undertake research and produce high quality and accurate analysis & data
    • Author syndicated and bespoke research products for clients
    • Develop expertise within the wider sector
    • Proofing and editing text to ensure reports are written in clear and concise English, checking data is correct and accurate and that formatting issues are addressed by liaising with the assembly team
    • Work as part of a team to ensure content is produced within allotted deadlines
    • Provide insight and analysis to the media, showing thought leadership
    • Assist our sales teams to strengthen client relationships
    • Validating complex data sets and analysing market drivers and trends across many countries around the globe, working closely with research consultants to ensure data trends are backed up with insightful value-added text analysis and opinion

     

    What you will bring to the table

     

    • Educated to degree level
    • Experience of producing market analysis: market building, manipulating and analysing data, and producing meaningful insight
    • An ability to analyse key issues, threats and trends across the sector as a whole
    • An understanding of macro issues, demographic trends and economic measures and how they impact the market and consumer spend
    • Excellent written English
    • Competent in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
    • Strong communication and presentation skills, as well as excellent time management and organisational skills
    • Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously and within a team
    • Be passionate about retail and research and hold a curiosity to investigate trends and issues
