    Integral to the healthcare team, GlobalData Consulting’s highly experienced consultants expertly lead clients to identify new opportunities, minimize risk, gain competitive advantage and improve profitability by delivering bespoke solutions to clients around the world. Our approaches typically leverage a hybrid of GlobalData’s proprietary databases, in-house secondary and primary market research, analytical horsepower, and consulting expertise.

    What you will do

    As a Managing Consultant on the GlobalData healthcare team, you will draw heavily upon your analytical, creative, and interpersonal skills. This challenging role requires you to assume complete ownership of significant engagements, while at the same time being a part of and leading a close-knit team that is client focused and impact oriented.

    We serve many of the industry leaders, including 90% of the top pharma and biotech companies, as well as hundreds of start-up and early-stage companies. As such, our Managing Consultant must demonstrate considerable poise and business maturity to perform effectively and add value in the client environment. Accordingly, you will be expected to deliver on the following:

    • Work across and successfully lead multiple engagements simultaneously
    • Help develop and mentor staff during engagements, as well as independent of client work
    • Coordinate aspects of internal operations including budgeting and staffing.
    • Contribute to ongoing business development through proposal generation, pursuit of new leads, and strengthening existing client relationships
    • Some travel is required; however, it is typically short-duration during discrete steps of client-specific engagements, or part-week attendance at conferences

    This role reports to Principals and the Global Director, who will be responsible for overall career development and professional growth.

    What you will bring to the table

    • MBA, Ph.D., or relevant Master's Degree
    • Minimum 4 years healthcare strategy consulting experience is required, ideally in roles that span across engagements in discovery/preclinical AND new product/commercialization

    The ideal candidate for the Managing Consultant position will have a PhD and/or MBA from a top school and demonstrated excellence as undergraduate, graduate and during previous employment opportunities.  Proven analytic abilities, a rigorous background, presentation skills, management experience and a team-oriented attitude are essential.   


    For those with a PhD, a degree in Biomedical Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Physics or Engineering are most desirable. A demonstrated passion for healthcare or the life sciences is crucial, and more specifically, an active interest in commercial strategy and/or the business side of healthcare is essential.


    Essential Skills & Experience (APPLCIANT “MUST HAVES”):

    • Fluent in U.S. and European healthcare system
    • Experience with and networked into pharmaceutical research resources
    • Market analysis in context of life sciences business needs
    • Sophisticated approaches to analysis of quantitative data
    • Experience in market access, real-world evidence, and/or commercial strategy is highly preferred
    • Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills
    • Demonstrated project management skills
    • Creative, strategic approach to problem resolution
    • Highly proficient in MS Office programs (Excel and PowerPoint) required


    • Ability to conduct financial modeling (e.g., forecasting, NPV) and utilize Visual Basic is desired
    • Experience in decision analysis
    • Proficiency in statistical analysis software such as SPSS, SAS is useful
    • Bi- or multi-lingual
